Meet the Team
The Islita Foundation is comprised of talented individuals, highly skilled in their respective professions. The purpose of sharing their personal information with you is simply to establish credibility in running the organization for potential volunteers or donors but in no way to attract attention to ourselves. Because we strongly believe that the attention should be focused on the projects, rather than the people, we have chosen to remain anonymous. The contributions we make are as a team and as a foundation, not as individuals. We would be happy to provide you with more detailed biographical information upon request, recognizing that we cannot remain anonymous at all times. However on this site, we want to maintain our focus on the projects in need.
One
At an early age, this volunteer developed an interest in philanthropy, growing to admire the work of Albert Schweitzer. After spending a month volunteering in Kenya, he traveled to the Marshall Islands, where he spent a year teaching 6th grade. Upon graduation from college, he began a career in accounting and finance and continued his volunteer service at the San Francisco Food Bank and later the Laguna Beach Homeless Shelter. These life experiences reinforced in his mind the belief that consciously choosing to assist those in need was not only a moral responsibility but also a privilege. He currently resides in Coeur D'Alene, ID.

Growing up, this volunteer developed a passion for education. Studying Psychology and Education in college, she went on to complete her Master's Degree in Education. As a teacher, she has spent her career working in Special Education, which includes assisting children with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD and other disabilities requiring specialized learning strategies to avoid self-esteem problems and behavioral difficulties. She hopes to incorporate education and learning into each of the projects taken on by the Foundation.

This team member first volunteered with his father at age 14 on the island of Borneo in Malaysia. That experience sparked a desire in him to help and learn from those less fortunate and led him to travel to many areas of the world while completing his dental training at Loma Linda University, in California. He then completed his training in Pediatric Dentistry at St. Barnabas Hospital, in the Bronx, New York. He currently works in private practice in Hood River, Oregon.
